Personality
Health & Behaviour
Seal is friendly with everyone he meets and shows no behavioural concerns around people.
He gets on with most dogs, however he can take a dislike to certain ones and cannot be completely trusted in a home environment to get along with a resident dog all the time. With his sad history, he deserves and would like to be the only dog in the home to get all the love and attention.
Seal gets some separation anxiety – this can be due to his past trauma so he would benefit from a home where he isn’t left alone much. He will go in his crate and settle but can be a little barky. This is improving, and will continue to improve as he settles into his new home.
Seal has no health concerns. He will soon be neutered, as he can be a little ‘humpy’ with some people when overexcited. This should stop after neutering, which will also improve his interactions with other dogs.
He’s come into our care very skinny – he’s slowly putting weight.
Perfect Match?
Seal is extremely friendly with people and can therefore be homed with older children. He’s a really sweet boy who’s come out of his shell.
Someone who’s round a lot of the time would be great for Seal. As previously kept in a garden, he deserves to have the comfort of being around people a lot of the time.
He will need a relatively active home where he can have nice walks with plenty of playtime. However he will still enjoy curling up in his bed, and snoozing away so doesn’t need daily long hikes!
Seal will no doubt steal your heart – and we can’t wait until he’s shown he can have a happy, loving home life once again.
