Adopt a Cat

Meet gorgeous Fat Louis. A very special boy who has fought an incredible battle to stay alive, but who is now desperately waiting for someone to give him the one thing he wants more than anything else… a home of his own.

Louis has been through so much. He was desperately poorly with FIP, a devastating illness which at one point left him unable to use his back legs. Thankfully, he fought back and regained his mobility, but he has been left with some intermittent urinary incontinence. He is also FIV positive.

But none of this has affected his enormous capacity to love. In fact, Louis is described by the veterinary team as one of the most affectionate cats they have ever encountered. He absolutely adores people and thrives on human attention.

Sadly, Louis has been living at the veterinary practice for far too long. Although he is loved and cared for by the team, a veterinary practice is no substitute for a proper home, a warm sofa and someone to snuggle up to and purr at.

And heartbreakingly, time is running out. The team have done everything they possibly can for him, but they cannot keep him there indefinitely. Without a suitable home, Louis faces the very real possibility of being put to sleep.

We simply cannot let this beautiful boy’s story end this way.

We are appealing to our wonderful CWAR supporters and followers to help us give Louis one last chance.

We know finding the right home won’t be easy. Louis needs someone who understands his medical needs, is prepared to manage his occasional accidents and can offer him the love, patience and care he deserves. Any potential adoption would need to be discussed with the veterinary team, with his FIV status and health history fully considered.

He doesn’t need a mansion. He doesn’t need perfection. He just needs someone to look beyond his medical history and see the affectionate, loving little soul underneath.
