Lenny came to us after his owner sadly passed away and he was at risk of being put to sleep. Through no fault of his own, his whole world has been turned upside down.
Lenny is a small crossbreed, around Jack Russell size and he’s 12 years young. He’s still a bright, sprightly little dog with plenty of life and love left in him.
He was very much a companion dog. His owner was his whole world and they spent all their time together. He’s not used to being without “his person” and you can really feel that at the moment.
He’s since spent a night in foster and everyone who has met him has absolutely adored him. He’s a lovely, gentle little dog who just wants to be close to someone again.
Lenny enjoys being outside and loves having a good sniff, taking everything in at his own pace.
He’s been neutral around other dogs, but hasn’t had much experience living with them or with children. He is good with adults, as long as introductions are gentle and on his terms.
What Lenny really needs is someone who is around a lot and someone patient, understanding, and willing to give him the time he needs to feel safe again. He is house-trained but has been doing some scent marking in his new foster home, we think this may be due to his being entire and hope it will be resolved once he is castrated.
He is understandably quite upset at the moment, but underneath that is a loyal, loving little dog who just wants a companion again
