🐾 Meet Murphy – Our Beautiful 2-Year-Old Cockapoo 🐾

At just 2 years old, Murphy found himself facing an uncertain future after becoming stressed and reactive following a stay in boarding kennels he was taken to the vets to be put to sleep. Thankfully, he was given a second chance when Celandine Wood Animal Rescue stepped in to save him. ❤️

Like many dogs who have experienced upheaval and insecurity, Murphy can initially be a little nervous but you’ll quickly discover the sweetest, most affectionate companion who simply wants to be close to his humans.

Murphy does struggle with some separation anxiety, so he will need a home willing to support him with reassurance, consistency, and time.

Murphy recently moved into a foster home where he is finally learning that people can be trusted — and after just one week, he is absolutely flourishing. Here’s what his fosterers had to say about him

“Murphy has been an absolute delight to look after. He’s such a funny little boy, full of personality. While he’s chilled most of the time (and would probably choose to spend 24 hours per day cuddling given the chance), he loves to play, run around the garden, and gently wrestle too.

He’s the definition of a people dog, but I also think he’d benefit from living with another dog, as he does seem to follow the pack wherever they go — and he never gets jealous!

He’s been getting much more confident at meeting new people. Just one little treat and then he’s ready to go over and say hi.

He’s very enthusiastic on walks and can be pretty strong, however I do think this is something that could be worked on, as he comes across as very intelligent, he picked up on our routine, rules, and habits within a day and just slotted right in!

I think he would definitely be suited to somebody at home most of the time, as he does panic a little if he’s left on his own. He just has so much love to give ❤️🐶”

Murphy’s ideal home would be:
🏡 Someone home most of the time
⭐ Would be patient and understanding while he continues grow in confidence
🐶 Have a confident friendly dog who could show Murphy the way
👩‍🦳 A home with older dog savvy children with successful introductions
🐱 Has lived with a cat before, so could live with a dog savvy cat again
