🐾 Meet Obi – looking for his forever retirement home 🐾

This beautiful 9-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier has spent his entire life with the same family, and now, through no fault of his own, he is looking for a very special home to enjoy his retirement. ❤️

Obi is an absolute softy. He is incredibly affectionate, loves being around his people and is happiest when he is getting fuss, attention and plenty of cuddles. 🥹 He is friendly with both men and women, enjoys being handled and has lived happily alongside children, including very young children.

His family circumstances are changing, and they sadly no longer have the time Obi deserves. They are very keen that he doesn’t have to go into kennels and are happy to keep him with them while the right home is found.

Obi is a real homebody who loves his comforts. He is fully housetrained and, given the choice, would quite happily spend his days relaxing with his favourite people — and yes, he currently sleeps in his owner’s bed! 👀❤️

Because Obi can struggle when left alone, he would ideally like a home where someone is around for most of the day. He can be left for periods and isn’t destructive, but he does whine and become upset when alone, so his new family will need to be understanding and prepared to help him feel secure.

Obi has previously lived with another dog for several years without any problems, but following a period of limited interaction with other dogs, his family feel he would now be happiest as the only pet. He is neutral when passing dogs on walks and has no history of dog fights or reactivity. He does have a prey drive and may chase cats, so he will need a cat-free home.

He enjoys his walks and particularly loves having time to sniff, explore and take in all the smells. He currently walks on a harness but can pull on the lead, although he responds well to his handler. He has never had reliable recall and has always been kept on lead, so his new family can have some fun helping this handsome boy brush up on his walking manners. 🐾

Obi also travels well in the car, enjoys his toys and particularly likes a good chew on his toy bone. He has no history of resource guarding.

At 9 years old, Obi isn’t looking for an action-packed lifestyle. He is looking for something much more precious — a quiet, loving home where he can be someone’s special boy again. 🤍

❤️ Someone around for much of the day
❤️ Older/respectful children
❤️ A home where he can be the only pet
❤️ No cats
❤️ Someone who will enjoy giving him lots of love and affection
❤️ Regular, enjoyable walks with plenty of opportunities to sniff and explore
❤️ A family who will give him the time and patience to settle and feel secure

Obi has known the love of one family for his entire life. He deserves for the next chapter to be just as special — and for his next home to be his forever home. 🐾❤️
