Personality
A few months ago, our good friends at Dogs Go – Dog Training, Dog Parks, Dog Events put out an urgent appeal for someone to take on little Ollie here.
Ollie came into our care after his previous home wasn’t the right fit. His owners reported that he had been resource guarding, which eventually led to nipping. Because of this, they felt unable to manage him.
When Ollie arrived with us he was understandably nervous and unsure. However, after some time with one of our experienced fosterers he is like a different dog
His favourite things are:
1️⃣ Perching on the back of the sofa to lick my husband’s head and neck
2️⃣ Following me around the house
3️⃣ Snoozing on his bed
4️⃣ Snuggling next to me on the sofa
He’s such a funny, affectionate little dog once you get to know him
Health & Behaviour
A note from Ollie’s foster carer:
“Ollie joined us in July, and at first he was quite the character! He had a little obsession with my cushions and claimed them as his own — we lost a few in the early days 😆. With consistent boundaries and a firm ‘no,’ this soon stopped, and he’s been much better ever since.
House training also took a bit of work, but over the past few weeks he’s improved greatly. I have five dogs here, so the occasional accident happens, but for the most part Ollie is clean in the house now.
Ollie has never tried to nip me, my family, or any of our many visitors. Occasionally he’ll give a little grumble if he’s unsure, but as soon as he’s reminded he’s not in charge, he settles down. He just needs someone who will be firm but fair with him.
He absolutely loves his food and treats, and he’s become my little shadow — following me everywhere. If I didn’t already have four dogs of my own, I would happily keep him.
Perfect Match?
He gets along really well with my four dogs (two dachshunds and two shih tzus). He doesn’t really play with them, but he coexists peacefully, so I think he’d be happy enough to live with another dog or as the only dog.
