💙 Meet Riley – A Golden Oldie Looking for His Forever Home 💙

Sometimes, all it takes is someone stopping for a coffee to change a dog’s life.

One of our kennel staff spotted a friendly Staffy wandering dangerously close to a busy road. Concerned for his safety, they asked around nearby businesses and managed to find where he belonged.

After speaking with his owner, it became clear they were struggling to cope and wanted what was best for their dogs. In an incredibly difficult but selfless decision, they accepted our offer of help. That day, three dogs came into our care – two Chihuahuas and the wonderful Riley.

Now it’s Riley’s turn to find the happy ending he truly deserves. ❤️

Riley is thought to be around 10 years old, but don’t let his age fool you! This handsome Staffy still has plenty of life in him, a spring in his step and loves getting out and about.

Recently, Riley completed the 2-mile circular Tail Trail in Rossett, taking it all in his stride. He walks beautifully on the lead and thoroughly enjoyed having some safe off-lead time during the walk. As with any rescue dog, his recall is something his new family will need to continue working on, but he’s already shown what a willing and enjoyable walking companion he can be.

At home, Riley is happiest having a little potter around before settling down for a well-earned snooze. He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who enjoys both gentle adventures and peaceful afternoons.

Riley is a loving, friendly boy who has done absolutely nothing wrong. Through no fault of his own, he has found himself starting over, and we would love nothing more than to see him spending his golden years in a warm, loving home instead of a kennel.

“Riley is a very sweet older gentleman who just wants a sofa and some company. He’s house trained, quiet and super affectionate. He is the epitome of ‘just five more minutes’ when it comes to napping and loves nothing more than a cuddle before taking himself off for another snooze.

On walks, he prefers a nice gentle plod and, when let off lead in secure spaces, he doesn’t go too far – just far enough to investigate all the interesting smells!

He’s been very neutral around my two dogs and cat. He could absolutely take or leave their company, but he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body.

He’s an absolute pleasure to have around.” ❤️
