General Questions

Q: What is Celandine Wood Animal Rescue?
A: Celandine Wood Animal Rescue is an animal charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. We focus on providing loving care and finding forever homes for abandoned, neglected, or injured animals.

Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in Heswall, Wirral and Wrexham, Wales. Please check our website or contact us for detailed directions.

Q: What types of animals do you rescue?
A: We rescue various animals, including domestic or farm animals and wildlife. If you’re curious about a specific type of animal, feel free to reach out.

Q: Do you euthanise unwanted animals or injured wildlife?
A: At Celandine Wood Animal Rescue, we believe every animal has a right to life. We strive to provide care for all animals, and euthanasia is considered only as a last resort to alleviate suffering.

Q: Can I visit your shelter to see a dog or a cat?

A: Visitations can only be accepted if they are scheduled through a meet-and-greet appointment as part of the adoption application process.

Adoption

Q: How can I adopt an animal?
A: To adopt, please visit our “Adopt” page and complete the online application form. After reviewing your application, we will contact you to schedule a meet-and-greet with the animal you’re interested in.

Q: What is the adoption fee?
A: Adoption fees vary based on the animal’s circumstances and help cover the cost of vaccinations, spaying/neutering, microchipping, and other medical or routine care provided during their time with us.

Q: Can I return an adopted animal?
A: While we strive to make perfect matches, we understand that circumstances change. If the adopter is unable to keep the adopted animal, we will reclaim the pet at no charge.

Q: Can I adopt if I live outside your area?
A: Yes, but adopters outside our area must arrange their own transportation. We aim to ensure every animal goes to a safe and loving home.

Q: Can I adopt if I am renting?
A: Yes, but we’ll need written permission from your landlord confirming that pets are permitted at the property.

Q: What should I do if I have questions after I adopt an animal from CWAR?
A: We strive to provide the best possible support to all our adopters and animals and will follow up regularly after the adoption.
